Elite CWRS standability, reliable protein, and yields that top Brandon—your Prairie upgrade.

AAC Westking is a high-yielding, semi-dwarf Canada Western Red Spring (CWRS) wheat that delivers everything growers want in a strong conventional variety. Released by Dr. Richard Cuthbert at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada’s Swift Current Research and Development Centre, AAC Westking consistently produces 102–106% of the grain yield of AAC Brandon across Western Canada, while standing noticeably shorter and much stronger in the field.

With very good to excellent lodging resistance and straw that is about 2–3 cm shorter than AAC Brandon, AAC Westking can stand up to heavy fertilizer rates and tough weather. It carries some of the largest, heaviest kernels in the CWRS class and offers very good sprouting tolerance, making it more likely to grade better in years where harvest is delayed.

The disease package is a standout feature: AAC Westking is rated Resistant to both leaf rust and common bunt, Moderately Resistant to Fusarium head blight (FHB) and stem rust, and Intermediate to stripe rust.

Maturity is similar to AAC Brandon, and the variety is fully awned with hollow stems. For growers who want maximum conventional CWRS yield, excellent standability, and an upgraded disease package, AAC Westking has quickly become the new benchmark in Western Canada.
