AAC Oakman VB is a new semi-dwarf, solid-stem CWRS that combines best-in-class wheat stem sawfly resistance with full orange wheat blossom midge tolerance in the same variety. Bred by Dr. Richard Cuthbert and the AAFC Swift Current team, it is sold exclusively as a blend with AAC Brandon as a refuge to preserve the long-term effectiveness of the Sm1 midge-tolerance gene.
